Oil Extraction The extraction and manufacture of high quality seed oils requires a sophisticated process guided by a strict quality assurance program. Sanmark takes special pride in the manufacturing of the highest quality oils. This process is conducted in three phases, pressing the seed, refining the oil, and packaging the finished product. Sanmark uses no solvents in the extraction process at our facility. All Sanmark manufacturing processes are certified organic and only cold pressing or mechanical extraction is used. Cold pressed oil is manufactured by placing the seed in specialized equipment called expellers. The seed is subject to great pressure and the oil is literally squeezed out of the seed without the use of solvent. This method is less efficient and more expensive than solvent extraction methods and a significant amount of oil is left behind in the seed. |
